Those blue critters in the image above are known as noctilucent clouds, and while rare they’re becoming more prevalent. The image below is kind of meaningful, once you understand the significance of these things.
At any rate, food for thought, and they sure are pretty to look at.

Amazing photos, but http://news.spaceweather.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/methane_strip.jpg puzzles me. There are a couple of things missing, namely where does the oxygen come from and where does the carbon go. CH_4 + O_3 = 2H_2 O + CO looks like the best bet, and seems to be a good thing (methane is 23 times as greenhouse-ish as carbon dioxide), so maybe we should be glad to see more blue (twilight) skies from now on.
